Hi all, I’m in the early stages of planning a return VFR flight from Sydney to Lord Howe Island in a single. I’ll be stopping at YPMQ for fuel, but I don’t have HF capability, so IFR isn’t an option. Looking at YLHI direct to Sydney for the return leg.

I’ve been out there a couple of times before, though not recently and I’d really appreciate any constructive tips or “gotchas” from the PPRuNe brains trust—especially if M550C is active.

Don't forget to check these before you go and make sure that the date and timestamp is correct. AFAIK they don't have a weather observer there any more. Replaced by a couple of $80 cameras!
