Surveillance Australia aircraft type basings
The Surveillance Australia website says that they operate bases at Broome, Darwin, Horn Island and Cairns.
Can anyone please tell me which aircraft types are based at which base? Are there Islanders and Dash 8's at all bases? Where are the Rheim's and Aerocommander based?
I have caught snippets of the answer on other threads but would like to get a definitive answer.
Thankyou in anticipation.

Coffee Thanks .... nah I'll have tea!
But seriously, the aircraft and bases are:
Horn Island - Islander only
Cairns and Darwin - Islander, Reims 406, Dash 8
Broome - Islander, Shrike, Reims 406 and Dash 8.
Hope this helps, applying for a job are you?
Good luck

Simply out of mere curiosity how does SA work thier progression from one a/c type to the next? (In other words: what do the company newbies start on - for how long - and eventually progress to?).
What sort of backgrounds do the crews come from?
Thanks in advance!

Coffee, a little more on that:
Broome= 1 dash 8, 1 islander, 1 aerocommander
Darwin = 2 dash 8, 1 islander
Hoorn island = 2 islander
Cairns = 2 dash 8, 1 islander
Currently i believe 1 dash from cairns spends a lot of time in darwin, so they sometimes have 3.
correct me if i'm wrong jetracer ! it's been a while !

Waldopepper me old son!
Correction required ... you forgot my beloved Reims!! haha
One 406 in Broome Darwin and Cairns as I mentioned.
I think Cairns has 2 Islanders ... dont quote me on that...
flyby_kiwi - depends on what is required ...
Usually start on islander, then promoted to 406 or Dash F/O
There has been in the past direct entry Dash F/O.
based on merit, as no seniorority (spellchecker!!), who knows the formua!?!?!?!?!
As for time frame ... when someone leaves or dies!
Cheers,
JetRacer

Thankyou all.
Yes, I put an application in.
I have spent a few years in the Territory and have a fair idea of life in Broome, Darwin and Cairns. My family could cope with those bases. Refuelled at Horn Is. once but can't remember anything about it (I suppose the crews live on Thursday Island). I hear that Horn Is. is the least popular base and therefore a more likely starting point.
