Is It Possible to Live in Sydney and fly for Virgin?

Is it a realistic option to fly for Virgin and live in Sydney (eg commute).

Realistically, how many days (under current EBA) could you expect to be away from Sydney??

Unhappy I doubt it

Having had reasonably close contact with an ex VB pilot of late, I seriously doubt your prospects.

From what I understand, you get your minimum 8 days off in 28 and that's it. Some are split days.

I think you would have to work from Brisvegas, and I think that if you are a family man, don't expext to see the family very often, even from there.....

I'll just settle for........"Is it possible to live in Sydney",
given the cost of living, accomodation, petrol, etc!

Cheers

When I was down there you could spend 350,000 on a chook pen.
And they have done another 20% since AN collapsed.
Probably not a desirable place to be on a DJ FO salary.

Is it possible and/or realistic to have a family life in Sydney and commute and fly the line for DJ?

A straight answer is NO, I was talking an ex vb fo who had to leave because he had a family in sydney and was away from home to long. He only stayed with VB for 3 months... He had left a dash 8 Capt job for it too... Bumma.

Lightbulb

Slight correction, Aztrucker. I know the person to whom you refer. He was not a Capt, but was very close to upgrade.

Tough choice, but you never know unless you go........
