RFDS B200 damaged on takeoff - Cloncurry

RFDS, Beech 200 Super King Air was apparently damaged on takeoff at Cloncurry and remained there for a few days before positioning to Mt.Isa.

The link says "The aircraft suffered an animal strike on takeoff."

To be honest, I'm surprised that doesn't happen more often out there. Maybe it does? Certainly nothing to see here..

Happens probably on average 2-3 times a year just in Qld. Part of doing business at night in that part of the world.

I have it on good authority that it was during landing too, not take off.

Right prop hit a wallaby. Bent a couple of blades.

Poor wallaby. Sounds like the plane and all on board were okay, although the engine will likely need overhaul/replacement.

As they say up that way: Stuff happens...
