Mustering Accident

A pilot has been killed in a helicopter crash during mustering operations on a remote station in the Northern Territory.

The crash involving a Robinson R22 helicopter was reported at about 12:20pm on Tuesday at Limbunya Station, in the NT's Victoria River region and near the border with Western Australia.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening, helicopter charter company Top End Mustering said the chopper had been carrying out routine mustering when it crashed.

"It is with great sadness that Top End Mustering acknowledges the tragic helicopter accident that today took the life of a highly experienced pilot during a routine mustering operation on Limbunya Station," the statement said.
