Vale Captain Darryl Brumby

Darryl, aka “Doctor” passed today after a brief illness
at Wangaratta. Formerly of Territory Airlines, Madang in the 1960s-1980s thence various Australian Operators, el Docteur was a larger than life character who left a lasting impression on everybody he met.

Flew for Air Mt Isa many years ago with Darryl in charge. Such a gentleman.

I am in Queensland and will not be there, but I am told next Wednesday 24th I assume Wangaratta area.

One of my mentors and training pilots when I first joined Territory Airlines in Madang - an understanding and kind training Captain, who nevertheless got the best out of you. Sorry that you beat me to the grave, mate.
