North Coast Aviation operated PAC 750XL, P2-BJD has been written off in an accident near Kudjip.
Pilot and three pax survived the accident. Pictures from the accident site show the engine separated from the fuselage and wing and fuselage badly distorted.

NORTH COAST AVIATON PAC 750 AIRCRAFT, P2-BJD, CRASHES DURING TAKE-OFF AT THE CLTC AIRSTRIP,IN JIWAKA PROVINCE
The Acting Board Chairman of the PNG Accident Investigation Commission (AIC), Captain Aria Bouraga, MBE today announced that the AIC has commenced an investigation into an accident involving a PAC 750-XL aircraft accident at Giramben Airstrip today, 9 February 2023.
Captain Bouraga stated that, “The AIC learned of this accident through Facebook an hour after it occurred and was able to confirm the information with the Operator.
The aircraft reportedly commenced take-off on a passenger charter flight to Simbai and rolled off the end of the airstrip and impacted terrain. It is reported that there were 4 persons onboard the aircraft; the pilot, two adult passenger and an infant. According to a representative of the Kudjip hospital, the pilot and the infant sustained severe injuries and are admitted to the hospital while the two adult passengers sustained minor injuries and have been discharged.
Captain Bouraga stated that, “Pursuant to the Civil Aviation Act, the accident site and all related evidence is under the jurisdiction of the AIC and the AIC appeals to all, especially, the interested parties and persons to not interfere with the evidence and the investigation. A full investigation will be conducted as required under the Act and in accordance with Annex 13 Convention on International Civil Aviation. Let the lessons that need to be learned from this accident be learned so that we can help improve the safety of our travelling public.
