New Operators
There's been plenty of (justified) doom and gloom in recent months/yrs regarding operators shutting their doors, be they either RPT,Charter or Flying school etc.
My burning question is...
Are there any new operators/AOCs out there making a go of things?
No plugs required, just a mention.
And no to the cynics. I'm not looking for a job, just good news and the odd success story....

I believe that our company is making a go of things in what has and will be turbulent times. Our AOC is more than 6 years old but we have new staff, new ideas and motivation to make things work... I think customers get tired of burnt out, bitter aviators and want to see a modern and vibrant company that gives the best customer service along with novel products. Flying in itself is not hard. Keeping customers happy is what I think shines through and they will come back to you time and time again.
Some people put getting out of the doom and gloom into the `too hard basket'. I say: get out there and show your customers why they should fly with you!... Pilots are just salespeople with wings!

flying is the easy part....
I think this point is lost on plenty of people, still i can understand that in the grind. Ironicaly its a depressed environment that allows people with a bit of get up and go to set an example.

I know this is about new operators, but I can't help but post something on the state of 'the farm' these days.
It is absolutely dead at the moment and has been for a while now. Gone are the days of flying schools ruling the air and chater aircraft floating around. Apart from BAE with their new lot of QF and other airline cadets, PF is in a sad state of affairs.
I'm just curious to ask, why is this? I've heard of MB and BK having slumps, but surely not as bad as how PF is at the moment? Is it the cost of landing and other charges that force students away? I just wish I could see PF how it was years ago. One of the busiest airports in the Southern Hemisphere I think it was??
Maybe it has to do with the pub under the tower closing?
Also, on the topic of new operators. Anyone know the situation with AD at the moment? Any rumours about new operators as such?

our company has been operating for only 13 years but we are as happy at as we have always been. we have a fabulous bunch of friends in our students past and present and most of those that some would call the opposition.
that's what aviation is supposed to be. if you aren't smiling when you are flying about you should'd be doing it.
it's all well and good to say that too many people bitch about it but there are those who have been used and abused and then there is casa then there is a lot of pilots after the same job.
it would be far bettter in the utopia of lots of airlines and lots of helicopters but that is not the way that it is.
making young or new students aware of the real future and the hurdles that they face would at least make them feel a lot less let down. at huge expense.
i field many questions from those who are freshly licenced and don't know where to turn. they are told of the possible future but not told how to properly pursue it.
