SCONE AIRSHOW CANCELLED

Disappointing to see that the Scone Warbirds Air Show was cancelled. Low cloud and weather. Big build up and lots of people, accom booked out and then no-show.

Did the angry man Horatio Hornblower get to wheel his little bug smasher out for a spin?

yeah, nah mate.

Saturday went ahead notwithstanding the weather, and a good time was had by most, if not all. Mini-Me II and I were scoping out the inside of the Caribou when they set off the explosions to kick it off after a 30min delay due the weather and he just about shat 'imself! If I remember the program right, everything except the Albatross and F35 flew as intended on Saturday, though with a couple of minor alterations to timing.

Sunday though, was a washout, with only a short aero display, followed by a Winjeel(?) & CT4 doing a few formation passes before various warbirds departed for home throughout the late afternoon, with one aircraft - I think it was a Pitts bound for Maitland - promptly returning to Scone with no oil pressure, resulting in the Hudson that was occupying the runway for departure, pulling off to allow him to land.

Council made the decision to open the Museum to attendees, but by early afternoon it was pretty much all done and dusted sadly.
