Any runways on Phillip Island?

G'Day guys, PPL holder in Melbourne Australia here, just looking to see if anyone knows of any private runways I might be able to ask about using on Philip Island for when the family wants to use the holiday house down there, now that the wise and generous people who own and still man the actual airport there have trashed the good runways and have sold the land off to some magnate to turn into more holiday houses?

Perhaps a floatplane instead.

Yeah unfortunately YPID closed doors to fixed wing a while ago (was out of their control). Not too much out there that isn't private

Did twenty plus charters into PID, for car and motorbike racing in the 90’s.

Always looked after very well by Sandy or his pilot Phil, and the local taxi driver.

Had a good group of motorsport enthusiasts that basically booked the next trip as we shutdown at home base.
The group always paid in cash, and we always finished up in a corporate box or VIP tent, happy days!

Yeah still going well, they were recently donated the cockpit of A97-214 after the years of salt and corrosion finally killed the airframe at the RAAF museum.

Cool

Thanks Guys / Gals (?)

Much appreciated.

Pity about the corrosion issue....Won't it be the same result here?
