Fire Fighting Aircraft - ADSB Equipped?
Wondering what Avionics gear fire fighting aircraft use in Australia ? Is there a standard? Do they run ADSB In and Out?
I am informed that NSW RFS aircraft and contracted ones do use ADSB, Tx (or out to you non radio peeps!) as a minimum.
Have a look over the Royal National Park, South of Sydney, at the moment to see them.

Most Victorian 'contracted' (ie as distinct from 'call when needed') aircraft have agency radios fitted (Tait) which broadcast lat/long on CFA/DELWP digital talkgroups such that it appears on internal agency mapping systems along with plant and trucks together with lots of other stuff (fire maps, spread predictions, weather, lightning etc layers.). When dispatched without an air attack supervisor the pilots talk direct to Firecom in Ballarat and on-scene direct to the on-ground agency Incident Controller. Others do have spidertracks.
