Not myself, but I know a few people flying in together.

I was going to go but the whole groups of 10 maximum with social distancing in force and groups of 10 need to be 2.5 metres from the other groups of 10 plus they have spoken to police about how to group people, with 3 separate BBQ’s running made me think that I’ll wait for a better day in the future when the second wave has died down.

Sounds too complex to be enjoyable.

Last year was entertaining though, with a few visitors trying to do these crazy downwind, downhill departures with this Trent Palmer style short takeoff thing and nearly taking out the windsock.

I never knew about this joint and I've been in the area 30 years! I know of two fields next to each other up that way at the lake wonder which one it is?
Seems all too hard at the moment though.

Yes, a couple of 150's from the flying club at YMPC will be heading there to throw a few snags on the BBQ. Looks like it will be a good day out.
And it's far from hard, chuck a few goodies in the esky, go burn some avgas and its only about a 30-40 flight from greater Melbourne.
I mean, we all take a lot more risk with virus situation just going down to the shops, which we all have been doing lately- regularly.
All you have to do is just give the Airpark owner a shout on his facebook site, and get the thumbs up, easy.

The owner told me that 5 years ago there was nothing at the site. Now there’s accommodation and hangar etc.

I guess the runways could have been there longer though.

A good day. Some might need a bit of encouragement to join the majority deciding on runway, circuit and downwind direction, but no big deal. Thank you to the organisers.

Yeah I heard it was a shambles for a few upon arrival!
Also heard that airmanship was poor for many on dept with a few blasting away as if nobody was behind them!
Perhaps common sense & airmanship is optional these days?

Mach, shambles is an overstatement. I didn’t see much blasting either. Five arrived virtually together and some were unfamiliar with the strips, the wind direction was also variable. Three strips - six choices.

A map, some joining instructions, a dedicated controller and a marshall or two and it’s all sorted. JF did some of the controlling towards the end and that helped a lot. I think there will be a few more helpers pitching in next time and a little more organisation. I will offer to help.

All this was done, despite Covid19, through a Facebook group formed only ten days ago. It now has 155 members! Give them a break.
