Lifejackets

A bit of casual reading through 20.11 notes that lifejackets require a whistle (5.1.6(c)).
Our company jackets don't, even though they are eastern Aero Marine jackets model XF-35 to FAA-TSO-C131.
So are these jackets not legal for Australia, or is there another reference that negates the whistle requirement?

Perhaps if you can demonstrate before a flight that the passengers are able to whistle it'll cover you?

Yeah, but then you've torn open the containing plastic bag...

The XF-35 pictured on their website clearly shows a whistle, and the whistle is listed as an option for the jacket - are you sure?

https://eamworldwide.com/vest/xf-35/

That website shows that jacket cetified to USA: FAA TSO-C13f, Type I ... your quote is FAA-TSO-C131. (not 13f) - They show the 13f spec in the "Specifications" section of the jacket. I don't know if there's a difference there....

That website also has a "contact us" page - so send an email to them to ask their position.
