Aviation Theory Costs in 1988

I'm researching for a book and wondering if anyone can give me some information about the costs of correspondence theory courses for Private, Commercial and Senior Commercial subjects in about 1988. I don't know and can't remember anyway as I used the old "College of Knowledge"! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I Paid $450 in 1981 for a lot of packets of books and exam questions for Senior Comm. It was very heavy going, and when an aircraft crashed and i had to be involved in the investigation, I never got back to it or passed a single subject. Rats.

That was bad luck Charlie. It was tough going but for me worth it in the end. Thanks for your input. Your figure roughly is consistent with my memory.
