I’m surprised that no one has info on this. Not even the media has reported an ultralight Cessna 172 with 6 people on board had a prang! Perhaps it didn’t happen.

Flightaware shows it hasn't flown since 1 October and there's nothing on the ATSB website. So, I'd suggest nothing has happened. The ATSB would list a wheels up landing on a VH aircraft and the flight history doesn't bear out a flight last week.

It happened!
Aircraft was on short final when ATC observed the aircraft had no undercarriage. They instructed the pilot to go-around twice, however it appears there were over transmissions, or the Pilot never heard the instruction.
Aircraft was last observed hanging from a crane headed for maintenance hangar.

I think the 6 pob gear up 172 ultralight was a comment on how inacccurately incidents in aviation get reported in the press.

Ah, thanks, so the rumours are true! And yes, that is exactly my point re media inaccuracies in reporting. I learnt in Cessna 172’s 30 years ago so I’m somewhat familiar with them

Looks like the wing detach mechanism didn’t work either! Probabably caused by an upstream failure of the flux capacitor. Why didn’t the flight engineer pick it up?

machtuk - the PIC had only 10 hours on type, so you might be right...14000 hours guarantees nothing.

It means you are getting closer to something going wrong! If it hasn't already!

Hmm. Note to self. Get out while still in front!

FlightAware can't always be relied on for accurate information unfortunately.

Nothing on ATSB site yet.
The image posted can't be an old image of the 2005 TSV prang,- as in that report it had a 2 blade prop.
