Allowances extra $10,000/year minimum.

FO (if anyone is interested)
Training: ~$45,000 (only for a few months after employment date).
Base year 1: ~$60,000
Base year 10: ~$72,000

Looks like US regional pay is now exceeding Aussie regional pay by a decent margin.

how long does it take to upgrade to captain in Rex/Qlink from day of joining?

One Capt I know was checked to line as an FO for 2 months and did his upgrade. Others have been FOs for 18 months. It’s competency and seniority based. You can be overlooked for a command if you have had lots of check fails etc. Usually the worst people to fly with are those who think they are entitled to an upgrade by virtue of having served X amount of time but aren’t even any good at their existing rank.

(of note 2month guy had flown a few turboprops before)

Kinda on topic but what are the lowest seniority bases for F/O's and Captains?

Really? I never considered a job in the US because I was always told the pay was bad and the conditions were worse (spending 5 nights away from home at a time, 2 weeks annual leave per year etc.) Care to enlighten me?

If you are competent at Rex and have the requirements you'll get upgraded within 12 months.

theres a whole thread on it called Australian pilots can fly for US regionals. It’s in the sub-form above this one.
