Australia needs a third world Aviation Authority!
I'm not sure Brazil sees itself as third world.

We already have a 3rd world Aviation Airhority! In fact the whole country could be considered 3rd world but with a 1st world facade!

Our overseas aviator cousins often refer to Australia as:

“The only third world country where you can drink the water.”

third world = not aligned with the West or the Soviet block.

If there is no sale of the company assets (Type Certificate) due to a lack of interest:

I would be concerned about resale value if I owned one of the type.
Has fatigue testing been completed to a reasonable flight hour/cycles/calendar event to allow on going use and later resale?
I recall that when GAF ceased Nomad production there was a 20 year spare parts guarantee including airworthiness?
.

The wings are rated for 92,000 hours and 15,000 for the vertical stab mount.

Plenty of other aircraft are orphaned and still going strong. Use and abuse then scrap. Resale is usually more so an issue for private operators or companies that have gone under.

Would be great to see it come back to completely Australian owned.

Is the GA8 a success? How was the GA10 stacking up?

Probably dreaming.

Still presumably 25% Australian owned.

The cash involved would be a drop in the ocean for Mahindra.

Yes, that is one meaning which is a bit outdated now and not the only meaning. I'd suggest it's not the meaning being applied by most posters on here. I think most people posting on this thread see Third World as being poor with low industrialisation and unstable or poor government.

GA-8 is a success, there is nothing else that competes with it. The GA-10 is and will always be a flop, trying to compete with second hand caravans was always going to be difficult at best. Gippsland whould have tried to put a diesel engine into the GA-8 (CD-300) and not a turbine.
