Hi Squawk, just wondering if there is a particular WiFi camera you recommend these days. The eBay links in your original post aren't valid anymore and I'm now able to arrange a couple at Scone to go on top of a hangar there.

I can save you a few bucks... there are 4 cameras at Scone about to be mounted shortly... just waiting on the fabrication of a bracket by the LAME’s.

Great! You’ll be able to watch all the earth-moving at Scone!

Always glad to save a quid. I'll just do the weather station on the hangar then! :P

The Hervey Bay cameras have now been moved. Apparently people were unhappy with looking at the side of a hangar...

Scone in not-so-sunny NSW right now, are online so you’ll be able to watch the transformation of the airport as the earthworks are completed.

Will be in both of the EFB’s by the end of today.

Enjoy and many thanks to the sponsors listed on the images!

Two new cameras have just been added to the network on the west coast of Flinders Island Tasmania, in addition to the existing Whitemark airport.

In OZRunways this evening and AvPlan hopefully tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Time for an update.

Yesterday we had Gloucester in NSW come on-board.

Today we had Edge Hill OZEDH come online in South Australia.

Or use the interactive map:

Enjoy.

G'day Squawk, just wondering if you could suggest the best WiFi camera these days? The original links to eBay throw up an error, I guess those ones have been discontinued or replaced with newer models.

Would any "Wifi IP Web Camera" be suitable, if it has sufficient resolution?

Hi, shoot me an email [email protected] and I’ll sort you out. *Most* cameras are NOT suitable because they are all designed for home security to an iPhone app these days and won’t do the timed uploads that we need.

I import my own from overseas, however if they go out of production, I’ll be on quite a mission to find something even remotely similar in price, so I’ve been stockpiling them. They are very inexpensive compared to the “commercial grade” units, however I’ve had 1 failure in 210 units, whereas with the commercial grade units I’ve now had 7 failures out of 22 !

The ones that were sourced for our airfield YHEC are stored in a black box in full sunlight and have been going for years and years without any issues. We have been through one power board which is stored in the box, the cameras themselves and the power supply are in the same box and they continue to keep working. About once a month they seem to like being turned off for a few seconds to reset themselves and then turn them on again. cheap but extremely reliable

Another good use for the Scone weather camera system: Keeping an eye on events such as Warbirds Over Scone...

Looks like they're setting up for a good day, but there's a bit of rain on the forecast over the weekend. The Spitfire & (pretty sure it was the...) Focke Wulf have been up and about today, as well as the aerobatic blokes. I didn't see the Caribou fly in, but that distinctive tail's a bit hard to miss.

For anyone flying in, Avgas at the bowser was $2.756 when I refuelled there last week. I believe AeroRefuellers have a tanker heading up/already there for the weekend too.
