Katoomba Airfield

Hi folks,

Has anyone landed at YKAT lately? I was in Blackheath last month and drove past but couldn't get on the field due to a closed fence. There was a sign with a number on it for access and info but it just rang and rang.

It's still in ERSA and despite there being another contact number in there, no one ever answers.

I thought it would be cool to fly up for the weekend instead of drive for once... but likes look it's not going to happen!

One scary airstrip, my man.
Took my C150 in there about 35 years ago, and it's all tiger country.
An EFATO there and you want your collection of rabbits feet,- or rosary beads.

Fathom, I haven't, and have no plans to, but watched Youtube vids and can appreciate what you mean.
Yerranderrie is another tricky one,- (by Oz standards).
