Going to Hawaii but have never used an HF

I'm going to Hawaii Sunday with my brother and his pilot. Unfortunately, none of us have ever used an HF. The plane has a King KHF-950. I have downloaded the manual and read it but that's not enough. Where can I get more information about the normal modus oporendum of using it as it pertains to the flight? Can I call Flight Service, would they be able to tell me what it's like? We will be leaving Oakland for the Big Island. Obviously, I'm a little queasy about this. If one of you is bored and would like to call me with some pointers that would be appreciated. Thank you. I don't think anyone is going to call you from Australia!

You don't need a Uni degree to drive a KHF-950. Call your local King Dealer in the USA.
