If I were you, I'd not renew and take the chance that you'll not end up in Yatala Women's Gaol.

(Those extremely naughty publicans at Marree and William Creek, who were allegedly involved in the new engraving of 'Marree Man' appear to have been let off the hook?
I have thought about not renewing it, but I like to keep things legal. Like my firearms license for instance - I may never need it again but I still renew it each time it comes due. It's probably just as well marriage licenses don't have to be renewed every so often, or I might think twice about renewing mine!

As for the naughty publicans I'm not sure what's going on re their alleged involvement in the new engraving of the Marree Man. However it would seem that it is slowly but surely fading back into the desert again. Let's hope they & everyone else have enough sense to leave it that way!

It is ridiculous. I got my marine VHF radio licence 40 years ago and still have it without any renewal. Why is aviation different?

Fees and charges for "permits" are so paper shufflers can have a job sending out fees for permits.
Its all about 'Jobs and Growth' dont you know or understand the priorities.?

The ever burgeoning bureaucrazies are thriving but the industries they suck from are in decline.
Aviation is the classic example.
Yr 10 yr passport $270. 2 year ASIC abt ditto . But you are funding employment, so it must be all good.

It’s not because the number of marine licence holders would cause political grief if an annual fee were introduced. It’s about air safety.

Bollocks, Lead Balloon!

I trust that our elected representatives will always act in our best interests..

(But then.. Prime Minister, Mr Robert Menzies did hand over Maralinga to the British Government to conduct nuclear experiments without even any cabinet consultation..)
