Part 61 PPL Class2 Medical Privilages & Limitations

The new Class 2 medical categories has some interesting changes.

Class 2 unrestricted medical allows up to 8618 Kg MTOW (A CJ4 is a bit under that) with a limit of 9 non-paying passengers.

The regs previously only listed a max of 6 people for a cost sharing arrangement, implying that as long as you had the appropriate ratings, endorsements, a very wealthy owner could fly an A380 with his entire extended family. True or false. I can't find anything in the regs to not allow that fanciful operation.

Does the new regs mean you need a class 1 to fly a "large aeroplane" which is over 8618 kg.

Why have they made a limit of 9 pax, the 408 D228 are about 5800 kg with 19 pax.
