AOPA Australia Cessna 172 Bankstown

Hi All,

Just heard about the Cessna 172 that has been puchased/leased by AOPA, for their members to hire. Anyone care to comment on the condition and the availabilty of the aircraft to hire and were it might be based at Bankstown.
Thanks
PV

The Sydney SAAA Chapters had weight and balance day at Bankstown on Saturday and AOPA were there with their Cessna and Bus.

I am not a LAME but the AOPA Cessna looked pretty good to me. It is old being an N model, I think, but it looked a lot better than some the flying schools rent out.

At the moment I think availability is good as not a lot have people have taken it up so far. I expect that will change as people become more aware. It is in a hangar on the North Eastern side of the airport, south of SFC.

I guess in the Australian way AOPA will be bashed on here for doing something.

Well done AOPA and members rates are very good.

A really good initiative, AOPA.

Good work, Ben Morgan and your board.

I agree Gerry. With all the negativity that normally surrounds aviation it is good the have something positive happening.
