Virgin Australia Pilot Pay

Hi People,

I am interested to know the average pay a Virgin Australian pilot makes as a 777 SO, FO as well as an FO on the 737? I am a jet pilot thinking of making an airline move. I am interested to know the average income per month rather than the base salary and extras.

Thanks for your time

No point in getting the 777FO pay as you won't have a chance at a 777 for A330 FO slot for at least 10 years.

Aus based FOs earn between $120k and $160k, plus tax-free overnight allowances, which on a busy roster, can amount to $2k per 28 day roster.

I don't know about 10 years but 777 FO jobs are as rare as rocking horse manure, often taken by 737/E190 capts who wish to scale back their workload.

Pretty low, IIRC about $72k, which is a lot less than QF SOs, especially those sitting between four engines. But VA SOs can expect to move to a 737 window seat sooner.

Would have been more if the EBA was voted up but it was resoundingly defeated.

72k is quite low for a basic salary, what would they bring home after an avg month?

I've lost the copy of the wb eba I had on my iPad, but from memory the basic is around 90k for 777 SO's - or that could be what they were offering in the proposed document that was voted down...

The July 17 pay for new SO's would have been just over $91000, under the proposed EBA.
