Aviation English ICAO 4 Assessor Qualifications

I've just passed my 61-9GELP assessor exam with CASA and next up will do the Level 6 Assessor exam. Now the boss has said why don't i go the full monty and get a Level 4 Assesor/Rater qualification.

Obviously a significant amount of training will be required, but have no idea where to go for such training, or how much I would need. The only lace that I can find on the net that trains Aviation English raters is Mayflower college in London.

I don't think a travel request to London for 3 months (estimated/wild guess) would go down two well. So does anyone have ideas in Melbourne?

I have been teaching Aviation English for for some time now so have a little bit of experience in the field.

It's all Bull@hit, I was in an Asian Simulator recently where the operating crew are required to produce their licence with English Level displayed, the F/O had a 6..!! His actual ability only was equivalent to the local 4 (-3), when questioned" Did you buy this for USD $1,000? " he became very sheepish..there are so many lies associated with English Levels in many Asian Airlines.....

If you have a degree, why not approach one of the Unis and see f you can do a TESL diploma or alternatively do a Masters degree in TSEL.

My partner did this several years ago took 18 months, and she now has a Masters that is actually useful ( She is a teacher)
