Queensland airports

Starting the initial research for a future trip on a private aircraft.
Which airports in Queensland have customs and immigration for an arrival from Hawaii. Any tips or suggestions for operating there?
All help appreciated!

Cheers Mizuno boy

Cairns and Brisbane.

Possibly Townsville and Gold Coast (Coolangatta).

Maybe Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore).

I'd phone those 5 airports and find out what's possible.

There maybe other airports available by prior arrangement. i.e. Most QLD maritime Ports have Customs and Quarantine who may be able to cover the airport at your cost.

Department of Immigration and Border Protection

If you are a Biz Jet operator, wouldn't your 'Handling Agent' be able to get that info?

As mentioned, Cairns or Horn Island are probably the most likely ones you'd be interested in. Certainly the most GA friendly. All depends on what type of aircraft you're talking about.

What kind of an aircraft are you going to be flying in? Horn Island would be pretty limiting for some corporate jets.

Bring your wallet with you. Australia views aviation as a giant captive cash cow, with obscene taxes and charges. Our regulations are pretty obscene as well, make sure your ADSB is working or you will find yourself stuck at FL 280 everywhere.

Go to the Gold. I was there for a couple of days last year--easy ops but tight ramp. Great people and, I believe Mick Dohan is still associated with them. If you go to Brissy, by the time you taxi to GA, you'll think you taxied SYD. Cairns is also fine, but haven't been in a few years.

Just curious, really 6,000' to 7,000'? I have lots of G6000 time
