Hour building!

Hey everyone.
Long time reader, first time poster!
I'm coming up to my CPL hour building phase and I'm looking for some good destinations I can take family and friends near Brisbane (YBAF).
Preferably not more than 400nm away.
Thanks!

This is always a good list to start with: Airstrips near pubs and food
Birdsville or Innaminka (including Dig Tree) are always good too and entertain non fliers.

Pretty damned hot out there this time of year. I think I would be sticking closer to the coast, especially if taking family along when thermals are most active...Kaz

If you're planning to get a CPL and work in charter then make sure you also do some bigger trips to more remote areas. You're spending the money, so might as well get some value out of it.

Long legs and remote areas might not be suitable for young kids, but maybe head out with someone who's keen to do some overnights and head to places which are a bit more out of the way where weather and fuel are more at the forefront of your mind and gets you used to that way of thinking prior to heading out remote as a newly minted CPL. If you want some more real practice try doing that with a good ol' fashioned map, pencil and ruler and only use your ipad if you really need it. (Maybe I'm just old fashioned like that? )

For the family, rainbow beach, harvey bay, shute harbour (more than 400nm) are nice places to visit.

Is the Raglan fly-in still happening these days?
