Yeah "Lighten up Fraaancis." I reckon you would be one of the mystery people that call our "all too generously tax payer funded athletes" HEROES. I say that as you seem to be detatched from reality somewhat.

And if lighten up Francis also has you baffled as well - Sergeant Hulka, Stripes, circa 1982.

Wouldn't be ******* if we didn't speculate on the cause of the crash.

I don't watch soapies either but its hard to avoid the promos on Ch 7.

Appears to me that it crashed because it didn't have any engines!

If you look at pics of the wreck, there are no exhaust pipes sticking out through the holes in the nacelles - propellers "yes" but engines "no".

Not sure how it got off the ground but I am working on that.

I can assure everyone that EQB is very much safe and well, with not much more than jumping scars and still (well, last time I saw her), parked at Goulburn,NSW (Australia) where she belongs.

The Ch7 sloppy (soap - Home and Away) shot the boarding, taxing and airport scenes and some of the bush walking scenes in and around Goulburn. I was involved on the distant periphery of the goings on though family connections. I am not sure what hull was used for the actual crash site footage.

I do agree, when I read or hear about any aircraft accident I get a chill, I have lost a few colleagues and good friends over the years (*Pls note - I am only a humble low time PPL and mid time RAAUS, my career choice is emergency services, I have had the unpleasant duty to attend an accident many years ago where 2 of the deceased where good friends - I know all about tragedy, in 23 yrs on the job I have attended more than my fair share of motor vehicle and aircraft accidents). There is a time and a place for notification of and speculation about tragic events, I have seen some here on Prune that should never have been posted let alone continued with, I have seen others that were shared on JB and the grief was honest, heartfelt and moved ppl across the world. Everything has a time and a place. I have no issue with this thread or the direction it is heading.

I would have thought that most ppl (Aus based anyway) would have either seen the reference to Yabbie Creek and the rego EQB and/or maybe spent 2 minutes doing some research (or asked questions via the thread as some have done) and realised that the thread was all about the Home and Away sloppy.

It is a thread in jest, and given that current state of the world, the going’s on and daily news events, I for one, am happy to have a laugh, dive in and enjoy some humour, and not have to think about the cr@p happening in real life for 2 minutes.

Can I also add, YGLB is having a good run for commercial TV productions. Several of the Budget Direct (Captain Riskyad’s) where all shot on YGLB and Goulburn was used as the base for the Lexus ‘Pursuitof Perfection’ wing suit car ad’s. And if you have never met Jeb Corliss – he is one hell of a nice bloke!

Live, laugh and stay safe..........

Where are the METARS?

I've also heard the 4,243 page ATSB report will be issued on July 23rd, 2315.

This was the clue for me...
Spoiler alert! At least one dead.
Good to see the barby's going. What are the OHS rules on the minimum distance from barby to split-open fuel tanks (if they have any fuel, in which case is the ATSB on the vapourware job?), and where's his yellow vest??

OMG! - Surely, no-one's noticed the totally undamaged prop! What a goof! IMDb will be right onto this!

Oh, hang on! It was a perfect 3-point, but somewhat rough landing, on a big smooth firm patch of the Simpson Desert, wasn't it?

I hope they had an MEL for the windscreen wipers and an EO to remove the main gear doors.

Isn't that an R/C model in the flying shots?
..or am I just stating the bleeding obvious.

Not to mention how did one of the actors jump the fence and run down the runway in an attempt to stop the aircraft taking off.... All without an ASIC. Surely he needs to be arrested.

The real EQB is a PI (with the large rear cargo door), while the crashed EQB is a P2 with the rear air stairs.

I just hope they run out of food and resort to cannibalism.

Nothing like a new season with fresh meat.

Before Aeropelican moved out of Belmont they had a P2 (rear stair) Bandit hulk stored outside, I think it may have been used as a source of spares for the Bandit they were running at the time. If I recall correctly the airframe was acquired from Transtate in Cairns and arrived at Belmont on the back of a truck.

Good possibility that the airframe used is the one mentioned above and the scene was filmed on Stockton Beach north of Newcastle.
