NSW State Air Desk

Can anyone tell me what's going on at SAD?

I keep getting letters promising investigations into "something"....

Well .... I guess I wish I knew!

First Email was "Too (sic) Whom It May Concern"...."effective immediately the following interim staffing arrangements have been implemented within the State Air Desk..."

...smell of it was that there had been a couple of people dispatched.

Second email was "I write to advise you that I have established an independent review into the current practices of the State Air Desk..."

Smells like ICAC to me, but then I'm nasty and cynical.

Sounds like typical RFS white shirts pushing for a bigger budget, more toys and justification of existences again

Hadnt heard of "SAD" before reading this thread, however having been involved in providing / operating air attack supervisor services many years ago I would say the acronym is quite appropriate.

Good to see the State only allocates a desk to aviation regulation.

The Commonwealth allocates an entire asylum!

It's not about regulation so much as setting QC for State govt aviation procurement.

When one or two operators get all the action one starts to wonder why.

I like to think of State Governments as sheltered workshops for those unable to get real jobs.

A number of years ago I asked a senior CASA employee his attitude to over $300 million wasted on the Regulatory review. His response was "Its only money...."

Exactly Horatio, I remember sitting at Cessnock waiting for the Huey to be tasked whilst the anointed ones made all the money.
