Vale Airstrip Tasmania

A good write up on The Vale Airstrip and its role in Tasmanian fire fighting this season and a great story for the promotion of GA in Australia.

Was this the strip that was causing the suggested area frequency congestion a few weeks ago? If it was someone from Airservices in conjunction with CASA should have established a temporary CTAF frequency and maybe established a temporary Danger Area around the strip given the reported number of movements. This wasn't a planned flyin, it was an emergency.

CAsA does not believe in multicom so why would they have any understanding other than their own blindly held belief in the validity of area frequency for all.

I understand that the originator of the area frequency "clarification" (not a change!) farce came from and now has gone back to hide in the RAAF!
