Gtang,
Go to Flight Safety in US, it will be cheaper in the long run, and far more effective and thorough training than you are likely to get here, particularly given the lack (as far as I know) of a simulator here.
Tootle pip!!

Does a PC-12 type rating exist? It disappeared off my license when it got changed over to Part 61. So I assumed it was just classed under the 5,700kg banner requiring only the appropriate design feature endorsements.

In addition to the appropriate design feature endorsements you also need "flight training and a flight review in an aircraft of the type".

References: CASR 61.062 and CASA Instrument Number 186/14.

If you had a PC12 endorsement on the CAR 5 Licence, according to CASR 61.747(4) you meet that requirement and you'll have no specific entry in the Part 61 Licence.

I did mine at Flight Safety. Excellent programme. Cannot speak highly enough of doing it with them. Only problem is the aussie dollar. This time last year 30% more bang for your buck in the US.

Is Flight Safety International still the preferred option for quality initial PC-12 training, or are there some decent Australian options?

Thanks,

Training and Flight Review.

Go to Schedule 12: Prescription of Aircraft and Ratings — CASR Part 61 (Edition 8) Instrument 2021 (legislation.gov.au)

Bumping this one back to the top.

Our aircraft doesn't arrive until later in the year, and FS is booked solid through to 2024. Are there any operators in Aus offering training in their aircraft?

I'd think Flight Safety would be the only 'real' option.

Does the RFDS train solely in-house or do they do SIM training overseas?

The PC24 guys go to France or Texas. PC12 training is completed entirely on the company aircraft.

Pilatus in Adelaide does them with Peter Tippett or Gary Williams over 2 ish weeks (depending on experience)

Generally its BYO aeroplane but they can provide one for a price.

Pilatus in Adelaide (nowdays) will only train in an aircraft purchased through the Pilatus dealer network. No 3rd party training.
