Northern NSW, no details on a/c type or what happened, however 1 on board and seems to have escaped without serious injury.

Hmmm, sounds as though initial reports were a little optimistic; chest injuries with a suspected fractured pelvis. Hope he recovers ok.

As to what happened, filtering out the breathless "I fought I wuz gunna die..." commentary, sounds as though something went wrong shortly after takeoff and he decked it to the west of the highway.

Bugger, RIP.

Weightshift trike, looks as though it went into fairly tall timber.

Angel

I never knew the man but just found out he only lived about 150 meters away from me.

High profile in cycling and private school sport, will be sure to get a lot of bad publicity for sport aviation from this accident.

condolences to family, friends and students
