More accidents by pilots than maintenance errors. Anyone than that dose not make the right planing weather it's flying into ****e or over tiger country cause it saves 1/2 hour or dose not have elt fitted or and carrys portable one are fools. But then of course we can have people like creamy that in case you don't know is employed by amsa telling you you have know idea. Strange hey. And by the way I've spent more time flying in remote areas probably than most of you combined. And yes I carry my own personal elt.
Once again blind leading the blind

Oh creamie such a knob !!! Elt or plt woop woop.
Tell us how many actually rescues u been on. Or how many rescues you personally been evolved in.
How about what the reg is for the g force that an aircraft elt mount is.
Point is if it works once that's all that counts if it saves life's. End of the story.
I'm wondering if your a Scotsman. Short hands deep b
Pockets and know f ing everything about aviation but in reality know sfa.

Creampuff, from all of his previous posts that I've read, W8 seems pretty much like an accident waiting to happen. At least the SAROs won't have to waste any money looking for him.

Yr Rihgt, back to your old form I see. Comprehensible one day, illiterate the next

Problem is that the ones who don't put in a plan or leave a flight note with a responsible adult, and don't carry a registered 406 GPS PLB or know how to use it, usually cost the most to find.

Quickest way to burn public money is to listen to dullards like yr right, and fit an ELT to your aircraft in the naive belief that a fitted ELT is all you need to be found quickly and saved after a forced landing, forced ditching or CFIT.

yr right: remind me again of how many hours in command you have? Of real aircraft. To the nearest 100 hours. (To answer your question: I'm too unqualified, too scared and too lazy to get involved in anything as important and serious as rescues. )

We'll creamie hours of comand are is not the important thing in this case.
Aviation is built on experience. Experience come from having acuattal aviation experience. Learning from people above and below you.
Unfortunately you like most are a sheep. You don't learn. For you to say not to fit an elt is a discrace. If it works once in a 100 and your the one what would you say about that.
So also as your so down on maintence what is the percentage of pilot to maintence accidents.
And like I said I live and breath aviation as a full time profession not a weekend worrier and having been brought in the industry and one thing that you seem to lack.
I have common sence.

I might add you where completely wrong about a3 on props. But you would never ever admit that.

I was up to my elbows in aircraft as a professional engineer before you were born, Steve.

Whatever experience you may have, it is evidently insufficient for the objective data to get through your thick skull. If someone wants to increase their chances of survival in an accident in a light aircraft, best to spend money on a 406 GPS PLB instead of a fitted ELT, know how to test and use it, and follow the other advice of the professionals.

Taking advice from you about the benefits of ELTs is like taking advice from you about piston engine management. A complete and utter waste of time.

Stick to tuning the piano, and leave the playing to the experts.
