HARS Open Day

HARS are open this weekend - and yes, they do have an F-111 for public viewing, along with all their other aircraft. The F-111 is truely beautiful! Apparently it was stripped and re-painted by the RAAF before being transferred to Wollongong.

They do indeed have an F-111 on display – and open for sitting in the cockpit!

Quite a good assortment of aircraft open for inspection, and plenty of knowledgeable volunteers wandering about happy for a chat.

Could someone list the aircraft there please.
Do I see a sabre, canberra, hunter? What are their histories? Which ones are static, being prepared to fly again or are currently airworthy?

Missed a great opportunity...

The DC4 (VH-PAT, a freighter formerly operated by Pacific Air Traders) is being restored to flying status and converted to passenger configuration.
