Newbie with a CPL and 10 Hours on a 206...
After flogging the search function here and on google, I am still unsure about which companies up north and out west would take a 250 hour newbie (CPL/MECIR/a little 206 time/qualified AME). I lived in Alice Springs for many years and I really enjoyed it, so I am considering staying up there for a few months after Xmas and trying my luck.
Has anyone start their career there? Or should I consider heading to Katherine/Arnhem/Jabiru first?
As someone who is still trying to find his feet (wings?) on the whole job hunting idea, id appreciate any earnest advice

I'm in the same boat mate, not quite qualified, should be in about 6 weeks though.
Really excited and nervous about landing that first job, really keen to do some hands on flying and learn as much as I can!
Goodluck

Best way to get a job flying with those hours would be to visit a few companies and ask for any job they can offer! ground handling, loading, office duties etc...
Being an AME should help your situation! After working hard for 6months you may get the opportunity you have been waiting for!
Check out Chartair i believe the CP there will give opportunities to those who work for it...
Best of luck mate!

Just posted this in the other newbie thread. Check out Companies | Aircraft Registry for a company list.
Search a location and target a company that has planes that would would expect for a first job. I.e. Smaller Cessnas.
Chart air is a chance in Alice. Make yourself known, but don't get stuck there waiting for one job if they are not hiring.

I know of a few guys who got a start at Chartair. The chief pilot, CM, is quite experienced and will sus you out quickly as to whether you are well suited to their operation. Make them your first stop and go from there.
