EASA PPL not recognised?

I heard that an EASA PPL would not be valid for hour building in Australia and that if I were to attend a CPL course, I would have to attend a 200 hour modular course to validate the hours flown in Europe with my PPL.

Do you confirm this?

RBGW,
I think your hearing is defective, or the speaker likewise.
Check the facts in Part 61 and 141/142.
Tootle pip!
