peterc005 that's very interesting about the Piper mounting / engine / spinner setup. If there were part numbers available that would be fantastic.

I've just had a look at R.A.A.F. Publication 615 The Australian Beaufighter Mk 21 Descriptive Manual and the control column is a conventional "spectacle" type nothing like the shovel grip in the mighty Airtourer! http://www.avia-it.com/act/profili_d..._PDF/MK-21.pdf

I'll have to check the yoke history.

Talk about mad dogs and Englishmen, some guy in the UK has built a twin-engine Airtourer:

It's got a pair of 390 Lycoming engines and is fully aerobatic. Now I really have seen everything!
