TAF Temperatures & QNH
Hi all,
I understand on a standard TAF the intervals for the temperatures & QNH are 3 hours, however when looking at the major aiport TAF's (ie Melbourne, Sydney etc) the TAF validity periods are 24 and 30hrs. Does this mean the intervals change or do they remain the same and you have to wait for TAF updates to know what the temperature will be in 24 or 30hrs time.
Cheers,

Large AD's such as international dromes have say a 30 hr validity period (0312/0418) with Temps & QNH's valid for the first 12 hrs, during that 12 hr period another TAF will be issued to keep those temps & QNH's valid & more realistic. The 30hr initial validity period is for flight planing purposes 'cause many international flights duration can be beyond a std 12hr TAF & over a 30 hr time frame the world could come to an end!.
