I was in Mackay a few years ago and there was one there in dire need of repair.

I did speak to the owner and he stated he did have parts for repair, as far as I remember he had two new wings still in crates and some other parts

If you talk to the flying school up there they may be able to steer you in the right direction

Let me know how you go

Regards

Most are now in museums - almost every aircraft museum in Aussie has one.
There is still one or two airworthy or close to I believe.

Darwin Aviation Museum has a Transportes Aereos de Timor (TAT) Dove reg CR TAG, that come out of Dili in 1975.

Not sure what happened to VH CJX & VH CJY,both at Jandakot in the long grass at one stage, many years ago. They were originally Devons I think.

That Is correct, I believe they where called "Admiral Barge's". There was also a Heron in Australia which was ex RN.

That Dove at Heathcote appears to be the one that sat derelict at Wallan for many years.

Could be wrong but thought the Dove at Wallan was a sort of tan with a little bit of red on it. Might be dreaming about another one I saw somewhere.

VH-ABM was the Dove at MB (the airframe out at Heathcote now)for many years with grass growing under it & VH-NBM was the tan coloured Dove out at Wallan (now a housing estate!), I know as I used to fly both
Both where Riley conversions (IO720's)with NBM having what appeared to be a typical swept back Cessna type Fin/rudder making it much better control wise upon T/O. I have a one off fantastic painting of VH-ABM done by our very own resident aviation artists AE, so sad to see that airframe died at Heathcote:-(
