phone 5s or 5c

Need to get a new phone. 5c is blue tick, 5s is not. Is there much of a difference from those that have either. Flying is ALL over Australia.

Also, whilst on the topic of new toys I came across this Lightspeed Zulu PFX Headset - Sporty's Pilot Shop

Anyone know anything more on this, or an Australian price point.

Cheers

My (limited) understanding is that the 5s got the new processor, the 5c did not. The 5c may in fact be the old 5 in a cheaper case - in which case the blue tick might carry over while the 5s is still undergoing testing.

Initially, iPhone was not blue tick, but it has always performed well. Its probably worth remembering that the blue tick came in after the Telstra stuff up with cr@ppy ZTE phones that were branded Telstra and sold by Telstra country wide, but did not perform anywhere nearly as well as the CDMA phones that they replaced. I'm not sure that blue tick has as much relevance now as when it was introduced.

If you really are doing a lot of regional work, I'd look at a "spot" tracker or Sat phone as well. Secondhand Iridium phones are quite cheap and the Pivotel plans are not expensive for a safety net.

Apple have just cut production of the 5c because of low sales numbers. Basically everyone is getting the 5s.

Better A7 M7 processor, better camera, fingerprint scanner etc.

Don't bother with the 5c as it's basically a new look 5 at a cheaper price.

Have a look at the HTC one, has it all over the iPhone and much cheaper.

Look at harvey Normal as they are the only ones I can find that has the 64g one, everywhere else has the 32g.

Just get the 5S unless you are really tight on cash. Reception is just as good as the 5. 5C is just the 5 in different case.

Worth it alone for the camera

Those new zulus look hella nice.

A bit pricey though. I picked up a pair of zulu 2s a few months ago for 800USD (100 off during the US summer) and wow! The bluetooth music connectivity makes those long, silent flights a thing of the past.
