Obstrusive ads now continuous on Pprune
I don't know about other readers but as soon as I a log on to pprune I get annoying pop-up advertisements that are now beyond a joke. Some are aviation related. I understand that Pprune HQ are seriously concerned about these ads coming in all directions and therefore the problem is not with individual computers. Presumably Pprune HQ is working on this but it is taking a long time. Anyone heard more about the problem?

I don't have that problem and I'm not aware of anyone else that has that problem.
Not to my knowledge. Nothing in our Admin Forum.
This is the only recent advert problem I am aware of:

I'll alert the technical guys to this thread, but I know they will need the URL of whatever popup or advert is annoying you.
Have you tried running an anti-malware program?

There was one complaint about the news.net popup:

If that is the problem you have, it is not PPRuNe related, but in your PC.
Google "News.Net virus"; there are removal tools and systems available.

It's definitely not a pprune issue, you have an infection.
Some cream from the pharmacy should fix it and to fix your PC you'll need a decent popup blocker and a virus scanner. Microsoft Security Essentials is free and should solve your virus issues but you'll need to research the other thread for a popup blocker. The last time this happened to me I ended up rebuilding my PC is was that bad.
The targeted advertising is great, I get lots of cougar websites up the top when on pprune.
