Frozen ATPL expiry?

I am hearing rumors that the December 4 changes will include the frozen ATPL expiring after 5 years if the candidate does not achieve an ATPL.

Would anyone care to shed some light on such a rumor?

we don't technically have a "frozen" ATPL licence here anyway.

If you are suggesting the thousands I spent getting all my ATPL subjects completed will expire simply because I have not passed a part 61 flight test to have an ATPL issued, then that really is a worry. Would not be suprised in the least though... Aviation, where you keep on spending!
