Vale RAAF Group Captain Herb Plenty DFC & Bar
Herb Plenty died 13 May 2013. He flew Hudsons against the Japanese. Former RAAF members in their 70's and over will recall Herb well.
Many of you would have known Herb, by reputation at least, and his sons Jack and Ed?.

Vale Herb plenty
Centy
I did not know Herb, but I have known his brother Ed Plenty and had the pleasure of working for him. Ed's sons Jack and Matt are both in the RAAF continuing the Plenty heritage and I am sure keeping the old "Plenty Here"jokes alive and well.

Sad news to hear.
Yes EMB, I also had the pleasure of working for Wng Cmdr (Ret) Ed Plenty at the old Darwin Aero Club. A real mentor... so much so we got talking about WW2 and the flying done out of all the Top End airstrips. He contacted Herb down south and it works out Herb and my Grandfather went through flight School together. Much history was then uncovered, thanks to Herb and Ed.

A wonderful person...
Then there is the apocryphal story about Herb...
Herb answers phone: "Plenty here!" Ans: "Well there's f/all here mate!"
Oh for the pre-PC days...
Tail winds for you Herb...
