I am building a model of this aircraft but I need details to replicate the amphibious undercarriage.. I have searched high and low on the internet to no avail.
Can anyone provide details of what the nose wheels looked like when retracted.
Also I see no evidence of any doors on the main gear surely the main undercarriage bay was not left open when the gear was retracted? If there were doors how did they operate / were they configured?

With Ampib floats, the main gear wheels have no doors. The wheel well remains exposed at all times. With the EDO floats shown in the picture, the nose wheel actually fold up and sit on top of the float. Can't find any otter pictures but google Beaver EDO amphib and you should get some idea

Thanks for clearing that up guys
Just one more thing on this, I have seen pics of some floats where the nose gear retracts such that the wheel protrudes at the front top bow section of the float, not way back on top like that shown on the pic of the Turbo Otter. Can anyone tell me definitively what VH-TLS had?

The aircraft was fitted with Bristol floats. I seem to recall that the nosewheel swivels up and over the front of the float and lays on the top. The mainwheel retracts mostly into the float with a bit of the wheel sticking out.
I assembled that aircraft and did the work for the issue of the CofA. I have some photos that I'll dig out.

I used to think those mirrors were for the benefit of the pilot so he could verify the position of the gear. It turns out they are actually for the benefit of modellers.
