Interesting places to land in NSW

I am on a trip from the Goldie through Western NSW then south to Vic in a few weeks. Looking for places to land that are out of the ordinary. What I want is remote, camping, swimming, big fire at night and few or no people. Any suggestions? 200 metres of gravel bar is all I need but airstrips, paddocks, empty roads and everything in-between would be welcome as suggestions. The Dig Tree is too far north and I have already enjoyed its remoteness, something similar in NSW would be a good start.

Buddy Jeeeezus! Western NSW??
Ok, you'll need one of the following.

1/ long range tanks to overfly it.
2/ firearms
3/ pig dogs without eyelids.

Good luck!

The Western Tour

A good spot is at the strip to the south of the Lake Mungo "motel"

Good accommodation [gravel strip] and used to lend you a vehicle to look at the "Walls of China" [be careful now - our illustrious leader may claim them as her own!!]

i have heard stories of people just landing somewhere miles from anything, setting up camp for the night, then continuing on their way in the morning.. most along the darling river.

Aussie Bob, when you have completed this trip would you mind posting the details?
Am I right in assuming you are flying a tailwheel?
Hope it is a memorable trip.

Talbingo (South of Tumut) - Great fishing spot and camping. Need something with bit of performance though STOL wise.

Mitta Mitta (South of Albury) - From Memory big hill in middle of circuit. Seemed like nice place, was in and out.

more central is Rylstone airpark. near Mudgee. there is also an airstrip on the highway between Broken Hill and willcania, with a roadhouse across the road.

here is a list of quite a few airstrips within 1 nm of food and accommodation. i find it a great resource. though it doesnt cover a lot of private strips that welcome visitors such as farmstay places like Cameroo.
