CASA Big 'R' regulator - how are they doing

There are a number of issues in various threads covering the regulations, the senate inquiry, Barry Hempel's, Barrier and others. Is it worth looking at CASA in general and asking how are they doing? Do they have respect from industry and the public in general? What are they doing right and what wrong? Do you trust them to ask for advice? Has the introduction of CMT (certificate management teams) helped?

We have enough CASA bashing threads, thanks. You can make this topic fit into virtually any of them.

Please do so.
