Wondering if anyone knows the running costs of the above aircraft ?
Engine overhaul cost ?
Realistic fuel burn per hour ?
Fuel capacity ?
Endurance ?
Thanks

Beware of ADs, particularly on the undercarriage? Ansett operated them in PNG for a very short period. Yet to hear a good word for an Shorts Pievan. The Shorts SD330 has lower operating costs and better engines than the SC7.

VH-IBS (with VH-IBO for parts) are for sale HERE.
Oddly enough, a search of the CASA Aircraft Register appears to indicate VH-IBS is not on the Register and a search for "Shorts SC7" comes up with "0" result.

Maintained a couple of Skyvans back in the 70's - hot section life was 400hrs due to operating in high salt atmosphere. TPE 331 engines suffered badly from sulphidation which just ate the turbine igv's and turbine blades. Possibly changes to turbine materials have cured this.

I remember Bougair in Bougainville had a Skyvan I guess in the mid 1970's? Last time I saw it at Kieta it was being painted with house paint and a paint brush.
I remember thinking that exercise was probably a waste of good house paint.
