I love the art.

However not a real Dove, No Gypsy engines leaking oil.

How about a Heron, something unusual like Butlers Mk 1's

717 heading that way? I'd be calling "tracking!"

Otherwise, nice pic.

........ah do worry 'Dhav' those Riley (Lyc's)400's leaked more oil than any Gypsy ever would ! The pneumatics where a joke..........more like 'oilmatics' the ratio of air to oil was around 50%!!!.....well seemed like it when we had to drain the air at preflight.

Still nice old girls/s to fly, just poorly maintained. 12 Japs mostly newlyweds (1 in the cockpit to, of course I insisted that the bride was the one in the cockpit not the hubby!)all with flash camera's made for an interesting App at night

Again great work AE, you should be knighted

The Dove is now proudly sitting in it's rightful place amongst the others, my career/history is nearly complete

Ahhh but Wally, surely somewhere you need a "single" in the collection. You too started out with just one

My thoughts exactly! It's not a Dove unless it's got a pair of dripsy er gypsy sixes! Usual inbound call from a Dove pilot included a request for a 20 litre drum of oil if I had one in stock!

..................now now jabba dabba doo one has to have std's ya know buddy
Yes I did start in a SE plane (there are quite a few twins that come under the SE cat anyway!) but way back then I knew no better.................I'm meant to be smarter these days staying away from those dangerous contraptions but looking back I should never have left school form 4 with not a single pass in any academic subject. That's my excuse for not knowing better

'DF' I guess yr right there but the Riley Dove still behaved like a real Dove:-)
In many ways am glad I had a couple of Lyc's under the hoods as I recall the night 'T Rudgy' parked his Gypsy Dove in someones backyard!
