Centaurus as a 21 year old over Townsville circa 1953. A68-113 target towing Mustang of No 10 squadron. Years later it was being flown by the British racing car driver Ron Flockhart from Moorabbin to Bankstown when he got caught out in low cloud trying to navigate through the Dandenong Ranges area at Kallista and lost control. He did not have an instrument rating.

Air Nauru Boeing 737-200 during very low run along runway 30 on Nauru circa 1983. It was a delivery ferry flight from Hong Kong to Nauru via Guam and the President of Nauru requested the deputy chief pilot who was the captain to display the new 737 to the people of Nauru. He clearly he did a splendid job worthy of a Farnborough display.

I note that the Aerial Agricultural Association of Australia had their convention very recently at the Marriot Resort, Surfers Paradise. So I'm assuming these piccies were taken at Coolangatta (Gold Coast Airport)??? (I've never been there.) I'm very impressed with the AVTUR refuelling facilities that you've organised for the trip. And the large fly in contingent. Safe flying for all of you!

Let me hazard a quess Cecil. You would have to be up just after you went to bed to have a chance of being anywhere near the head of that line up for a load. Even then you would have boot prints up your back.

All quite civilised 4by, you know what it's like. Job for a retired gentleman, must be for a retarded one as well if they let me do it.

Oops. Looks like you've been outed Cecil. All that talk of forestry contracts fooled nobody. Those photos are a give away. The booms have atomisers on them, not nozzles. Classic trailing setup.

Doesn't look like I will be getting over there this year. Will have to line things up a bit earlier next year when the recruiters come around. Happy trailing.
