EFATO @ JT this morning....PA-28

Perth Radio 6PR reporting a Cherokee aircraft ( NO, NOT another F#*^in Cessna, but a Cherokee...) had an EFATO this morning at JT at about 0820 WST and put it down within the confines of the ad. to the East...

The news mentioned one wing substantially damaged (Torn off..??)
Radio speculation...so obviously not an 'eye witness' report....

82 yr old PIC ok, 2 pax OK, one taken to hospital for observation for possible back injury....

Nil c/s given.....

OVAH!

A light plane with three people on board has made a crash landing into bushland at Jandakot Airport.
The Bureau of Air Safety says the 82-year-old pilot reported losing power in the Piper Cherokee soon after take off and made an emergency landing off the runway just after 8:00am (WST).
Police say a 68-year-old male passenger has been taken to Fremantle Hospital with minor injuries.
Another 70-year-old male passenger walked away unharmed.
Three investigators from the Bureau of Air Safety's Perth office are investigating the crash.

Looks like a PA32. They dont' glide that well. Probably why it stayed within the airport boundary.

Yes definately a PA-32. Was told the C/S but I can't verify so won't say here. Good outcome for the occupants considering what could have happened.
